Book Review : Wonder by R J Palacio

Blurb (From Goodreads):
Ten-year-old August Pullman wants to be ordinary. He does ordinary things. He eats ice-cream. He plays on his Xbox. He feels ordinary - inside.
But Auggie is far from ordinary. Born with a terrible facial abnormality, he has been home-schooled by his parents his entire life, in an attempt to protect him from the cruelty of the outside world. Now, Auggie's parents are sending him to a real school. Can he convince his new classmates that he's just like them, underneath it all?
My Take on the book:
What attracts you immediately to the book is how the author narrates one of her real-life incident at the start of the book. The incident which prompted her to write this book has today affected a whole lot of people across the globe so much so that a movie has come out based on this book.
The book was a tear jerker from the start. Quotes such as “Kinder than is necessary. Because it's not enough to be kind. One should be kinder than needed.” affects one so much that you cannot control your emotions and atleat in my case, you cry like an idiot. Tears just keep rolling down as you go about the book in many instances. The characters including the dog Daisy are so lovable that you just do not feel like putting down the book and when the book finally ends, it gives you a sense of happiness as well as sadness.
The book is quite small and easy to read but it does leave a profound affect on the readers. For anyone and everyone out there, just pick this book up and read it. Trust me, you will love me for this.
